SQL / VB.NET DevOps Engineer

Position location can be in TX or MO

Looking to add a member to product team supporting Insurance Product. As part of the team, you will work to enhance existing systems built using VB.Net and SQL (along with other technologies) as part of a larger product that uses a wide range of technologies.

The product development team is responsible for delivering prioritized stories that look to maximize value for members and business through insurance products. Most of the stories relate to the maintenance and enhancement of existing SQL / VB.NET applications and integration of 3rd party applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design database tables, create/edit/delete tables, indexes and constraints.
  • Create / Maintain stored procedures.
  • Work with Team Foundation Server and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Understand SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) packages.
  • As a team, refine and pull stories so that you can deliver results each sprint.
  • Communicate regularly with team members and other teams.
  • Review, analyze and resolve application issues as needed.
  • Evaluate strategies and makes recommendations on changes and improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members on the design and implementation of new functionality.
  • Participate and provide feedback during planning and review meetings.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the product.
  • Learn new technologies to expand ability to support full suite of systems. This is often facilitated by paired programming and/or mobbing.

Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of experience in application design, development, and deployment of code.
  • Experience as a Product Team member for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Familiarity with the VB.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns
  • 4 year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong communication skills and interest in a pair programming environment.
  • Strong team member who inspires, innovates, and delivers results to add values and make a difference.
  • Experience with scaled agile frameworks such as LeSS, DaD, SAFe, etc. would be a plus.
